Now that Google My Business has become commonplace, even B2B companies can become concerned if they don’t have any reviews, asking, “What’s wrong with this company?” Recently, it has also been gaining attention as a way to connect job seekers looking for job information with companies that are hiring. Reviews and ratings are what make your business and services more persuasive.

In this article, we will explain the following:

  • Attitude and management to encourage reviews

If you have a brick-and-mortar store and use Google My Business, you need to pay attention to your online presence because potential customers may already be looking at Google Maps and heading to your store.

This applies not only to retail stores, but also to a variety of local businesses, including restaurants, hair salons, and fitness clubs. For users who have their smartphone’s GPS turned on, Google can accurately detect their current location and provide them with directions to their destination and the latest information about businesses and services. Users can get the information they need right now, such as phone numbers and opening hours, without even landing on the website.

The most useful information for users is reviews. When you land on your Google My Business profile page, the first thing you’ll notice is the star rating. You can easily sort reviews and even write your own ratings and reviews.

Why Google Reviews Are Important Regardless of Your Business Type

According to a local consumer review survey conducted in 2020 by BrightLocal, a UK-based SEO tool developer, 87% of consumers read reviews of local businesses, and 67% of them said they “always read them” or “regularly read them.”

When people are unsure about a product or service, they often compare reviews before deciding where to buy or go. This shows that social media, including Google My Business, plays a major role in connecting consumers with businesses.

Star ratings are very important. A BrightLocal report states that 48% of users would consider using a business with fewer than four stars. If the rating is less than three stars, only 19% of users would consider using the business. The report concludes that having as many reviews as possible (at least 10) on your Google profile, and that positive reviews will help build trust with potential customers.

Buy Google Reviews through Google My Business helps you stand out to potential customers, promote your presence and brand, and, best of all, boost your SEO by increasing mobile traffic.

Why keep your Google My Business active?

Make sure your Google My Business listing is accurate and compelling. Learn how to improve your local rankings.

Your profile should include the following information:

  • Address: Enter the full address of your business.
If you are a non-store business, you can proceed with the registration process without adding an office or store. In this case, you will need to set your “Service Area.”
  • Phone Number: In addition to your business’s primary phone number, you can enter up to two additional phone numbers.
  • Category: Select a subcategory from the major categories such as corporate offices, retail shops, professional services, entertainment, facilities, public services and organizations, and medical and health care.
  • Attributes: Barrier-free access, Wi-Fi facilities, mask wearing, etc.
These can be edited after registration. Using the Google My Business app makes it easier to update your business profile.
Google My Business is a great way to reach mobile users, with Google research showing that 60% of smartphone users contact you directly from search results.

When people visit an unfamiliar place, they often use their smartphones to search for destinations and stores. Information they come across by chance can lead to a direct visit to your store, potentially becoming a customer.
Google My Business is a social media platform that can help you acquire leads through MEO and SEO.

How to get positive reviews on Google

Getting reviews on Google isn’t easy, so rather than waiting for people to leave reviews, try proactively requesting them.

According to a survey conducted by NapoleonCat, over 70% of people surveyed would respond to a review request if it were a simple comment. Below is the order of most likely to respond to a review request (multiple answers allowed):

  • When a review request is made via email, 45% of users open it.
  • If asked directly: 34%
  • If you include a review request on the receipt: 30%
  • Request reviews via direct mail on social media: 26%
  • Request by phone: 24%
  • For SMS messages: 20%
  • Requests made using in-house groupware: 16%
  • Chatbot requests: 15%

There is no specific method for requesting reviews. We will explain more specific ways to get responses from customers in the sections below.

How to request a Google review

Depending on the type of store, service, or business, try creating a memorable message.

When crafting your message, keep these three things in mind:

  • Google reviews are important for businesses because customer opinions help improve their products/services.
  • If your reviews are concise, they will be reflected immediately on Google My Business.
  • Reviews are beneficial for both businesses and users.

Why not try collecting reviews through the above-mentioned communication methods? Reviews from past customers are also useful information for those looking for a reliable business partner.

E-commerce shops without physical stores can also register with Google My Business. For example, if you are an online shop, you can include a card encouraging reviews with the invoice when shipping. If the link to Google My Business on the card is a QR code, it can reduce the burden on users of having to enter the URL.

You can also come up with emails and social media campaigns encouraging current and past customers to visit your Google profile and leave a review.

Show customers how they can share their comments and reviews

Not all users who use Google Search know how to write reviews. If you are requesting a review by email, it would be helpful to include a URL that takes you directly to a website where you can write a review.

Until recently, Google My Business distributed stickers with the G logo, but now it offers marketing kits that can be customized by each business. Any business that has already completed owner verification can create promotional banners and stickers online. Enter the name of your business in the “Enter your business name” area on the left of the image below. After verifying with Google, stickers and other content reflecting your business name will be displayed. You can change the background color and font style while viewing the screen.

How to get the link PC

Log in to Google My Business, select the business you want to manage, and open “Home” in the left menu. Find the “Leave Reviews” section in the right column and click the “Share Profile” button. You will then see a Google Review link that you can share.

How to get the link on a smartphone

To do this, go to the Google My Business app.
Select “Home” at the bottom of the app, scroll down to the ” Reviews Provider Singapore” section, click the blue “Share Your Profile” link, and choose how you want to share it.

Once you have the link, you can create a QR code to go with it. There are many free QR code generators available online, so try searching for one.

Attitude and management to encourage reviews

Not only on Google My Business, but also on Instagram and Facebook, if you make it a point to “reply” to comments, you can increase engagement with your fans and followers.

With Google My Business, you treat your customers online just like you would in person, and after all, the best way to get great ratings and positive reviews is by providing excellent customer service.

NapoleonCat’s inbox can be used to manage reviews not only on Instagram and Facebook, but also on Google My Business. For example, if you manage multiple Google My Business accounts, you can view comments received on each one in a single dashboard and reply from each Google My Business account.
