Why watch Twitch?

Twitch has millions of daily active users and roughly 3 million broadcasters every month. This gives you so much content to consume that you won’t ever run out of it. But, unfortunately, the option of the real-time live stream, broadcasting esports competitions, and course, the hilarious fails to make the Twitch app fun and addictive.

You can even live chat while gaming, make customized memes and emojis, and earn money as a streamer on this fantastic app!

Why stream the Twitch app on TV?

Since the content is so cool and high-quality, it feels more exciting watching it on a bigger screen. In addition, the Chromecast device lets you cast content from your phone to your TV or speakers easily. Thus, when Twitch finally came on Chromecast, the news was well-received by gamers worldwide.

When you Chromecast Twitch on a bigger screen or a speaker, the in-app entertainment becomes more enthralling. Imagine randomly browsing the Twitch app on your phone and coming across a brilliant video on Dark Souls. But, alas, the phone’s small screen is not doing justice to it. On the other hand, if you have a Chromecast device at home, you can instantly cast that Twitch video on your TV.

The Chromecast can also be easily controlled via the Google Home app.

How to Chromecast Twitch on TV?

There are two ways to cast Twitch on your TV via a Chromecast device. They are as follows:

Chromecast Twitch via your smartphone

You can cast Twitch from both iPhone and Android cellphones to your TV. Below, we have written a step-by-step procedure to do that. It doesn’t matter if your TV is Samsung, LG, or any other company; the steps usually remain the same.

Step 1: Download the Twitch App

Visit the Google Play store on your Android phone or the App store on your iPhone. Search for ‘Twitch’ and download the app.

Step 2: Sign up/Log in

Once you have downloaded the app, open Twitch and enter your login details; if you already have an account, sign in.

Step 3: Connect your phone and Chromecast to the same Wi-fi network

Since both are smart devices, they will only be able to communicate with each other if they are connected to the same wifi network.

Step 4: Select the video that you want to stream

There are thousands of video options to choose from on Twitch. Select the one that you want to stream on your smart TV.

Step 5: Cast Twitch

Locate the cast icon on the top of your Twitch app. Click on it.

Step 6: Stream

When you click on the cast icon, you will see a list of available devices. Choose your Chromecast device.

When the connection is established, you will be streaming content on the bigger screen.

Chromecast Twitch via Chrome Browser

You can also Chromecast Twitch via your PC browser. Here’s how:

Step 1: Connect your PC and Chromecast to one Wifi network.

Like the phone, you need a PC and Chromecast to be on the same wifi network.

Step 2: Visit the Twitch website

Open Chrome and visit the Twitch website in this browser by typing twitch. Tv in the search bar.

Step 3: Login/Signup

Once the website is loaded, enter your login details or sign up for a new Twitch account.

Step 4; Cast the video

Choose any video you want to play, then right-click on the screen and click on the Cast option.

You can also click on the 3 dots on the taskbar of your Chrome browser and select the cast option.

Upon clicking that, you will see a cast icon and the list of available devices.

Step 5: Watch Twitch on a bigger screen

Find the Chromecast device under available devices and watch Twitch stream on your TV.

Cast from multiple devices

You can stream Twitch to TV via multiple devices. Also, any device connected to the same wifi network can act as a remote for your TV screen.

This gives control to every device, so you don’t have to rely on that one friend to watch the most incredible stuff! Instead, click on the cast icon and play!

How to fix Twitch Chromecast not working

If, in any case, you are unable to cast Twitch to your TV screen, follow the steps below:

  • Ensure that the Chromecast device is connected correctly to the HDMI port of your TV set
  • Reinstall your Twitch app or install the latest version
  • Restart the Chromecast device
  • Update the Twitch app
  • Check your internet connection
  • Make sure both phone (or computer) and Chromecast are connected to the same Wifi

So, what are you waiting for? Turn on your TV, launch Twitch in your phone or browser, and start binging!
